New Parent & Child Camp at Dallas Arboretum – Growing Up WILD
A new parent & child camp is coming to the Dallas Arboretum in January! The camp, titled, “Growing up WILD – Hiding in Plain Sight,” is specifically designed for the “littlest of nature lovers!”
Growing Up WILD will take place on Monday, January 23rd, 2017, at 10:00 AM at the Wyatt-Wold Education Center classrooms. Members cost is $40, Non-members is $50 (3 year olds to 5 year olds with one parent).
The camp will feature hands-on science explorations, song and movement and garden discoveries, while campers explore the amazing world of nature.
The Growing Up WILD program is a new program from Project WILD, an environmental and conservation education program emphasizing awareness, appreciation and understanding of wildlife and natural resources.
The organization focuses on several key factors for young people, teaching them how to think about wildlife, not what to think, providing fun, hands-on educational activities, helpful, scientific background information, problem solving and decision-making skills, while being “kid-tested and teacher-approved.”
Growing up WILD was developed to provide early childhood education program that builds on children’s sense of wonder about nature and invites children to explore wildlife and the world around them.
Through a wide range of activities and experiences, Growing Up WILD provides an early foundation for developing positive impressions about the natural world and lifelong social and academic skills.
The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden has been listed among the top arboretums in the world and proudly offers the public a variety of annual events and educational programs for children and adults.
It’s located on the shores of White Rock Lake and it’s 66 acres provide ground-breaking horticultural research and a complete life science laboratory.
