On Saturday November 15, 2014 in conjunction with For The Love of the Lake, The Dallas Parks Department, and the Citizen Foresters, and 150 volunteers we will plant 150 native trees at Norbuck park located in White Rock Lake park. Trees that will be planted include American elm, Pecan, Chinquapin oak, Bur oak, Sycamore, Black walnut, and Texas Red oak. White Rock lake’s many trees were planted primarily in the 1920’s by the Civilian Conservation Corps. They are aging and dying at a fast rate and need to be replaced for future generations. The Trees Please program has been responsible for planting almost 1,000 trees at the park for the last 4 years. You can be a part of this worthwhile and fun project with just a few hours of commitment on November 15th. Please click on the link below to volunteer.
