School News

  • Alex Sanger Elementary will be holding its kindergarten round-up on Feb. 10th from 4:30 to 6:30pm.

Spring and Summer Camps in the Casa Linda Estates Neighborhood

Kidventure Summer Camps Dallas 2016

  • Kidventure’s Camp White Rock – Kidventure summer camps serve children ages 3-5 and grades 1-7. In 2016, camps will be offered at numerous locations around Dallas – some serving the younger age bracket and some the older. Camp White Rock will serve both age groups in all its sessions (see below). The overall theme for this year is “Summer Quest 2016: Find Your Super Power.” Registration opens Feb. 9th; White Rock camp dates are as follows (Each chunk of dates has a different theme and requires separate registration.):
    • June 6-10
    • June 13-17
    • June 20-24
    • June 27 – July 1
    • July 5-8 (with July 4th off)
    • July 11-15
    • July 18-22
    • July 25-29
    • Aug 1-5

Studio Bella for Kids Dallas TX

  • Studio Bella for Kids – This spring Studio Bella for Kids will be offering a few fun events for families and children.
    • Feb. 12, 6-9pm – Lego Camp Date Night
    • Feb. 15 (DISD school holiday) – Half or Whole Day Children’s Camp
    • Mar. 4, 4-5:30pm – Panoramic Sugar Egg Camp 
  • Studio Bella for Kids will also be offering several summer camp options in the months to come. Some of the camp themes include: Princesses and Pirates, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Baking and Decorating, Star Wars, Pottery and Sculpture, Painting, Spy Camp, Urban Architecture, Capture the Flag, and more. Visit their website for more details. Feb. 13th at noon and summer camp dates are as follows (There are multiple camps running during each date range, and times, age ratings, and costs vary.):

Promise of Peace Community Garden

  • Earth Camps at The Promise of Peace Imagine Garden – The Promise of Peace Imagine Garden at 1435 San Saba is now accepting registrations for upcoming Earth Camps, where children will “plant, tend and harvest in the garden and engage in garden inspired art explorations” as well as partaking of “signature seed-to-table cooking with ingredients directly from the Imagine Garden – all healthy and delicious!” All classes are limited to 12 students, ages 4-12. Contact Elizabeth at 214-240-9220 or ejdry54@yahoo.com to register. The Mix Cowering Opening

  • The Mix Coworking – Come celebrate the opening of The Mix Coworking on Saturday, February 13th from 10am to 2pm at 9123 Diceman Dr. in Dallas. This not-for-profit is located at the basement level of White Rock United Methodist Church and aims to create a place for freelancers, business people, and community members to work on projects outside their offices and homes. The Mix describes their business as “a neighborhood space to collaborate with creative people who are passionate about their work and their world.” By purchasing a membership (Rates start at $75 per month), you gain access to a conference room, an artist’s studio, a sewing lab, a textiles room, a video and sound production studio, and other spaces in addition to beverages and snacks and optional locked storage for your belongings. — If you’re still a little hazy about what exactly “coworking” means, watch this short video and you will soon understand! Then, go take a peek and become part of the coworking movement that is sweeping the nation!
